This passage envelopes the intentions of my latest series. As with earlier work,
I am exploring the physical and psychological implications of
interior spaces.
I believe in the freedom that exists within our own space. Inside these confines,
we are free from ridicule and judgment and are able to be
whomever our imaginations
allow. I hope that the interior spaces that I have created fuel the expanse of the
viewers’ imaginations so that they are able to
explore the inner-workings of
their own worlds.
While the ideas that inspire my work have remained relatively consistent, the
way in which I translate these ideas on to canvas has changed
drastically. This
current body of work emphasizes the space itself rather than its contents.
Most importantly, the work is about paint, color, surface, and the
limitless
possibilities that the medium has to offer. Although I have only scratched the
surface of what one can do with paint, I believe this current body of work
effectively
represents both the medium and my own personal expression.
